New C245786 cartridge available for soldering minuscule components

JBC, a leading manufacturer of soldering and rework equipment, has extended yet again its cartridge range with a new model: the C245786.

Similar to the C245126, this cartridge is used for soldering very small components as well as for drag soldering and correction of bridging.

JBC cartridges introduce unseen levels of precision and uses to the soldering process thanks to their excellent heat transfergreat durability and instantaneous heating up. Moreover, by using the sleep and hibernation functions, tip life can last up to 5 times longer.

JBC’s Automated Tip Cleaner causes excitement at Productronica 2013

The new JBC product was really appreciated by visitors as being an innovative solution to clean soldering tips effortlessly.

AVAILABILITY: Mid-January 2014

. The CLM4000 Automated Tip Cleaner became one of the JBC products that attracted most attention from visitors and clients who approached the JBC's stand at Productronica 2013. 
This new system consists of  two brushes that automatically clean the soldering tips when a photoelectric sensor detects the soldering tip.

The user just needs to bring the tip gently to the cleaner window and let the system work for as long as necessary. This means less effort and greater comfort when working.
This innovative product is designed with the most appropriate materials (brass and nickel silver brushes) to ensure the least damage of the tip. 

In addition, the wide splashguard guarantees the minimum tin splashes and allows the user to work safer.

JBC launches new cartridges in response to customer feedback!

JBC's cartridges offer excellent heat transfer, great durability and instantaneous heating up. Using the sleep & hibernation, the tip life lasts up to 5 times longer.

C120-012: This is the same than the C120004 cartridge but it has a larger tinned surface (5mm lenght).

C245-136: This is a special cartridge for desoldering micro stick switches (e.g. mobile reparations).

C245-748: This is the bent version of the C245-747 cartridge, which has a bisel shape. Its geometry enables you to reach easily components difficult to access.

C245-749: This cartridge is very similar to the C245-748 but it has a slight difference: the bisel tip is designed to be used by the top of the tinned area.

New models of JBC cartridges, more soldering solutions.

The wide range of JBC cartridges has been extended with four new models. Three of them specially designed for soldering cables and connections.


 This is the bent version of the cartridge C245-061, which has a screwdriver shape.
Its geometry allows to reach components that the straight version can not.








C245-762 This is perfect to solder cables or cylindrical pieces up to Ø9mm.







C245-763 This is specially designed for soldering cables and connections up to Ø 2.5 mm. 
This model, similar to the current C245-760, joins to the special section of the C245 range.








It is perfect to solder cables of Ø1mm maximum.
It is also suitable to solder rows of pins of Ø1mm maximum up to a total length of 10mm (which is the width of the tip).








JBC NANT: The succesful Nano Station, now with two Soldering Irons

Following the success of the Nano Rework station, JBC has responded to requests from its customers with the launch of the NANT Nano Soldering station.

The Highest Precision in Soldering!

The NANT Nano Soldering station incorporates the same control unit than the NAST station but it comes with two nano soldering irons instead of tweezers. It is specially indicated for high precision jobs requiring more than one nano soldering iron working simultaneously.

The nano soldering irons are the best solution for very small-sized SMD components such as 0201 chips including those that require the use of a microscope.

 JBC's Nano tools are extremely light, comfortable and stand out for their shortest tip-to-grip distance. Despite its small size, they are able to provide up to 15W of power by using C105 cartridges.

New look and improved features on the Nano Rework station

JBC has recently launched the improved version of its highest precision station: NAST-B Nano Rework.

The new features of JBC's most unique station make the user's job easier, save time andincrease productivity:


Both tool holders feature a wider angle to facilitate placement of the tool.

The new anti-rotation clamp of the cable collectors avoids cable tangles or discomfort when working.


It consists of two cleaning stands with a splashguard and a cartridge extractor which allows a quick & safe cartridge change with one hand.

It is also possible to use different cleaning systems and organize the nano cartridges according to the job.

What’s the most recommended type of wool for cleaning soldering Tips?

Brass wool: Although less aggressive than the Inox Wool, it is easily subject to breaking down. This can cause metal particles and fibers to contaminate the enviroment of the working area. We have a very large and experienced customer that refuse the use of Brass Wool technique for this reason. Brass wool was first used in the industry many years ago and, as sometimes happens, it became an industry standard and adopted by many vendors.

Inox Wool: It is more agressive than the Brass wool and may require more restraint from the operator when using. This method proves to be the most effective when the user applies less aggressiveness and minimizes the abrasions – Less Is Better. Apart from being more effective with controlled use, Inox is much more durable than Brass. It is more flexible, less fragile, and as a result, reduces broken particles and contamination. In our testing we found it very resistant to breakage and less than 10X broken particles were found than with Brass wool.

The JBC HD Heavy Duty Station is the ideal solution for high thermal demand or prolonged soldering applications such as the production of solar panels, multi-layered circuits and components of large dissipation surfaces.

It works with the JBC exclusive heating system and the intelligent sleep and hibernation features.

Using the menu you can personalize over 20 parameters to help manage the soldering process.

It incorporates a USB connector (type B) to update station software and create graphs.

JBC restyled stands to best suit the work position

The adjustable tool holder with screw and the curved cable collector have been designed to make your job easier.

JBC has launched new stands for all Premium soldering and rework stations with the following main features:

+ Adjustability

-The adjustable Tool Holder with the Sleep & Hibernation modes allows to place the tool according to his needs. The user just need to rotate the screw in order to suit his best work position.

+ Comfortability

-The curved cable collector allows to use the cartridge extractor more comfortably.

-The top of the cable collector has been enhanced with a non-rotating design that prevents cable discomfort when working.

-The position of cable collector can be adjusted by pulling to the wished direction thanks to the new screw system at the base.

Following these changes, the stands replaced its reference including the letter D (e.g. AD-SC support is currently AD-SD).

JBC stands manages the Sleep & Hibernation modes in order to lower tip temperature when tool is not used. As a result, tip life lasts up to 5 times longer.

Prolonging tip life

In order to get satisfactory tip lives, especially using LEAD FREE alloys the following should be taken into account.

· Our experience shows that 90% of solder joints using JBC tools can be performed successfully at 350ºC (660ºF), in any case it is not recommended to exceed 370ºC (700ºF).

· The force applied on a soldering iron should not be more that it’s own weight.

· To prevent the tip from oxidizing and corroding fresh solder should be added before putting the iron back in its stand.

· Adapt the tip size correctly to the solder joint.

· Do not apply abrasive surfaces to clean the plated area.

· Use a mild flux.

· Keep sponges clean and damp, not swamped.

· Only use original JBC sponges; other sponges may contain substances that reduce tip life.

· Use distilled/de-ionized water and avoid tap water; tap water contains substances that reduce tip life.

· Only use tip re-tinner when absolutely necessary; when the tip is oxidized and cannot be cleaned using the sponge or other non agressive cleaning methods.
