Torque Meters & Testers

Torque meters are essential to all factories or workshops that use rotational tools. Torque meters can be used for a number of different applications, namely measuring the torque settings of electric screwdrivers, torque drivers and torque wrenches. We can provide torque testers from reputable brands, including DOGA, HIOS and ASA.

Torque Meters & Testers

What Is A Digital Torque Meter?
Known as either torque meters, torque testers or torque analysers, these bits of kit are designed to measure and display the output of a torque tool. These tools include wrenches, torque screwdrivers or even torque drivers.

Torque is measured in Newton Metres (Nm) and applies to the force to which the tool can rotate. In other words, it essentially pinpoints how powerful your screwdriver or wrench is. The higher the reading of Nm, the more rotational force that tool can apply.

Torque testers will help with quality control of your tools, ensuring that you know each of your torque-controlled tools are calibrated to the correct measure of newton meter.

How Do Torque Measuring Tools Work?
Digital torque meters rely upon a torque transducer that converts the rotary torque into an electrical output signal. This reading can then be calculated, allowing the user to have an indication of the rotational force that their tool applies.

The key reason to use a torque meter is because of the digital display. This allows the user to easily read the results on a screen and track the repeatability, efficiency, and power of the desired tool. Some digital torque meters can also allow you to measure both directions of travel with the tool, both clockwise and anticlockwise directions.

Why Should I Be Using A Torque Meter?
There are a number of benefits that you can reap through the use of a digital torque meter. These include:

Optimal Quality Control – By ensuring that each tool has the required torque calibration, you avoid overdriving and head stripping issues with screws. That way you ensure that each use of the tool has the exact torque needed to complete the intended task.

Repeatability – In a production line or assembly line setting, ensuring that each use of your tool is of the same power and quality as the last is vital. Torque testers ensure that this standard of repeatability is maintained with every use.

Safety – If the calibration of a screwdriver appears too low, it can lead to a nut becoming loose. In the assembly of some items this can compromise the safety of the intended user of the product.
