JBC Preheaters

PCB Preheaters allow users to complete soldering tasks at lower temperatures to induce minimal thermal stress while still delivering the highest quality results. IR Preheaters now play a critical role in modern soldering - particularly given the presence of high mass PCBs and lead-free solder - underside heat enables users to complete soldering tasks quick and efficiently.

Why You Should Use A PCB Preheater?

When soldering or desoldering, preheating your PCBs and components offer three main benefits:

Better Activation Preheating your PCB helps to better activate the flux. It does this by removing films and flux oxide. By doing this, you enhance the wetting process, leaving you with a more solid solder connection.

Less Thermal Shock – When a PCB heats up rapidly in a short space of time, it can lead to thermal shock, causing failure in both the board and components. By preheating your PCBs, you get the board below the point of soldering temperatures and avoid sudden jumps in temperature that can warp your PCBs.

Reduced Molten Solder – Ensuring that the PCB is sufficiently preheated reduces risk of exposure to molten solder on your PCB. This in turn minimises the possible damage that can occur to surrounding components.

What Is Different With JBC IR Preheaters?

Independent Work Zones
JBC preheaters have the ability to split into two independent convection heating zones.

3 Work Power Modes
The JBC range offers 3 pre-set working modes: Power mode, Temperature mode and Profile mode.

Multiple Thermocouple
Depending on the model of JBC IR preheater, there is the capability to connect to from up to 2 (PHNE Model) to 8 thermocouples (PHXLE range).

Infrared Preheaters
The JBC Preheaters we can sell you all achieve their PCB preheating capabilities using low the thermal inertia of their infrared lamps. The high heating capabilities from the infrared lamps allow for a fast response when applying your selected profile. This way you can get the most uniform heating for your PCB, which in turn gets you the optimal results.
