Different Types Of Purex Filters:

Purex use 2 different subcategory of filter within their units. These are Pre-filters and Main Filters (HEPA)

Pre-Filters
Labyrinth / Pads / Pleated Bags

Pre-filters are designed to help prolong the life of the main filter in the unit. They help to capture the larger particles before they get a chance to enter the main HEPA filter of your unit. There are a wide variety of designs for these filters to ensure that your Purex fume extraction unit suits your intended application.

Below are the 3 types of pre filter available:

 

PADS –

• Neatly fits below your main filter.
• Graduated fibre matrix that delivers excellent particle capture capacity.
• Perfect for low volume applications, or for tasks where small particles are produced.
• Captures particles to 5 micron at an efficiency up to 40-60%.

 

PLEATED BAG –

• Provides an additional particle capturing capacity.
• Perfect for applications where large numbers of particles are produced.
• Retains the particles inside for quick and simple disposal.
• Standard captures particles to 5 micron at 40-60% efficiency, composite captures particles at 1 micron at 95% efficiency.

 

LABYRINTH –

• Fits neatly under the main filter of integral Purex extractors.
• Graduated fibre matrix that helps to deliver an excellent particle capture capacity – up to 20x more of a standard filter.
• Perfect for medium to high volume applications.
• Keeps the captured particles inside for a quick and clean disposal.
• Composite material available for extra filter life and filtration down to 0.5 micron.
• Standard captures particles to 3 micron, at an efficiency of 60-80%.
• Composite captures particles to 1 micron at efficiency of 80-95%.

 

Main Filters

HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air. With these Purex filters, specialized combinations of filter media are used to capture particles, gases and vapours that are generated from your industrial processes. These can include machine and hand soldering, laser engraving, ink jet printing and more.

Every filter has a unique serial number, being individually tested and certified, guaranteeing both safety and performance.

The Purex HEPA filters are precision manufactured from a pleated material. This incorporates reinforced strips that separate the pleats, aiding in preventing airflow vibration or collapse.

Additionally, air equalization plates are used between the layers, further reinforcing the filter housing. This also helps to distribute the airflow across the filter, enabling all of the filter media to be used.

HEPA/Chemical –

• Filters small particles at 99.997% down to 0.3 microns in size. They absorb a wide range of gases and vapours.

Chemical –

• Absorbs a wide range of gases and vapours from the drawn in air.
