ESD Safety Shoes & Anti-Static Work Boots

What Are ESD Shoes?
Anti-static or ESD footwear serve the purpose of sending electrical charges through to the ground. It minimised both the possibility of damaging sensitive electronic components along with reducing the possibility of users being electrocuted.

ESD footwear is designed to accompany a whole suite of antistatic equipment protection measures, and not viewed as the sole source of protection. Ensure that antistatic safety boots are accompanied by the appropriate clothing and other ESD protection equipment.

Brands Of ESD Footwear
The main brand that we supply in our store is Sievi. They are the largest manufacturer of safety footwear in Northern Europe. From antistatic work boots, ESD safety boots and even ESD clogs. Browse our range of Sievi ESD shoes here!

Other Footwear Products

Footwear ESD Testing – These are wall mounted and aimed at checking the continuity of your antistatic footwear. With a very simple indicator, with a green light flashing for a pass, and 2 red light indicators and a buzzer signalling a failed test.

Groundable ESD Overshoes – Perfect for visitors of your workspace who need quick ESD footwear solutions without replacing their shoes. These elasticated shoe overalls fit snug over the users shoe in a one size fits all design. Groundable ESD overshoes are compatible with cleanrooms and come with a conductive tab already sewn into the fabric.

ESD Heel Straps – Products of this nature allow for easy and slightly more robust additions that make the users shoes ESD safe. There are two varieties of ESD heel grounders available on the Kaisertech. There are the buckle additions that clip around the heel of your shoe, and the ESD disposable heel straps, both perfect for visitors to an EPA environment.

ESD Toe Grounder – Performing the same functionality as the heel straps above, these ESD toe grounders are designed for use with high heels. These are elasticated back to ensure a secure and snug fit, along with non-marking functionality to ensure no marking on your high heels!

How To Ensure The Longevity Of Your ESD Shoes
To ensure that your antistatic footwear stands the test of time in your work environment, there are a few pointers that you need to consider:

  • Ensure that both the floor you walk on and the sole of your ESD shoes are clean and free from dirt and dust. Any dirt can affect the shoes ability to maintain a good connection to the ground. Therefore, it can lead to the static electricity not being able to dissipate into the floor and making the antistatic qualities of the shoe redundant.
  • Check the condition of your insole and make sure the material remains intact. Should it get damaged over time through wear, it is a clear indicator that you need to replace your ESD footwear.
  • Avoid the use of shoe powders or any other product that is designed to reduce humidity. For optimal ESD performance, a degree of humidity in your footwear is necessary.
  • It is highly recommended that you never use a different type of insole in your antistatic shoe. Unless it has been specifically designed to include ESD properties, the insole will stop the static electricity from reaching the ground, rendering your shoe as redundant in EPA environments.
