What Does SAC mean?

SAC refers to the alloy contents in the wire of Tin (Sn), Silver (Ag) and Copper (Cu). In reference to Solderking products, this includes alloys such as SAC305, SAC405, SAC0307, SC100e and SAC387.

You can determine the composition of the wire by looking at the name. For example:

  • SAC405 - 4% Silver, 0.5% Copper
  • SAC305 - 3% Silver, 0.5% Copper
  • SAC387 - 3.8% Silver, 0.7% Copper
  • SC100e - 100% Tin

SAC alloys are RoHS compliant and provide a premium soldering experience. Find these alloys in forms such as solder wire, bars and pastes.
