Brexit Britain & Its Implications For Kaisertech

Implications Of Brexit On KaisertechImplications Of Brexit On Kaisertech

It doesn't matter what your opinions and beliefs are on Brexit. We can all come to a unanimous agreement that changes are coming.

A new way of trading, new processes and new relationships will need to be forged. When the new year arrives we will step into a post-Brexit world.

Kaisertech have been working diligently to ensure that Kaisertech is prepared for every eventuality. We have put steps in place to mitigate issues that could affect our stock and delivery processes for our customers.

Below we have identified areas that present risks to our business processes upon our exodus from the European Union. We have based these on a no deal Brexit, but will constantly monitor and adjust our processes accordingly.

Potential Problems

  • Reduction of free movement of products, goods and services across the EU/UK Border
  • Increase in tariff and duty costs on goods moving between the UK and the EU
  • Increase in administration to process the required data for border crossings

Reduction Of Free Movement

The Problem: It is likely that the reduction of free movement throughout the UK will have implications on our delivery times. This is something we take extremely seriously. We pride ourselves on our high levels of customer service and see this as an obstacle that we need to navigate. Doing so will ensure that we still attain our high standards of customer satisfaction.

The Kaisertech Solution: To alleviate this issue we have taken a number of steps. Over the past six months we have been in constant communication with our key suppliers and have access to several shipping agents. This will help us navigate any possible issues moving forwards. We have also been working hard to ensure that we increase our stock levels on essential items such as :

  • Solder
  • JBC soldering cartridges
  • Our Electric torque screwdrivers
  • ESD packaging & grouding
  • Quick hot air stations
  • Electrochemical's
  • PPE

Increase In Tariff & Duty Costs

The Problem: In the new year there is an increasing likelihood that goods traded between the UK and EU member states will be subject to additional tariffs and duty costs. Until we are clear on the type of exit that occurs, we cannot give exact costs and figures for the potential impact. But the eventuality that there will be a cost has meant that we need a contingency plan in place.

The Kaisertech Solution: This is one of the more pressing issues that we have strived to solve. We always closely monitor the situation regarding changes to Tariff and Duty costs. Should Brexit lead to any price increases we endeavour to inform our customers as quickly as possible. It goes without saying that we will always look to reduce any costs possible, minimising the potential increase in costs to our customers.

More Time Needed For Administration Process

The Problem: When are products are shipped across the UK/EU border, there will be an increased administrative workload that comes with it. More forms, additional admin costs, customs clearance charges and possibly more. The new admin process will inevitably be more fleshed out, with more hoops for us to jump through.

The Kaisertech Solution: We have years of experience importing and exporting across the globe. This means we have a large amount of experience to draw from when dealing with the administration process. Throughout the past year we have been proactively seeking specialist advice for any extra measures that we may need to action. Rest assured that we will make sure that none of this filters through to you the customer. If needed, we will dedicate more staff internally to speed up the process and fulfil our customers orders in the same timely fashion we are synonymous for.

What You Can Do To Mitigate Any Possible Problems

There are certainly steps that you can take with your own businesses to minimise the impact of any Brexit fallout. First and foremost, consider any possible delivery delays for products that are integral to your business functioning.

Having a larger stockpile of items than normal ensures that you are covered should there be shortages with your usual suppliers.

We are currently advising customers to consider holding 6 to 8 weeks of essential items. This way if there are any delays you have emergency stock should we have trouble delivering an item you require post 1st January.

In Conclusion

With the overarching confusion that these Brexit changes have ultimately caused, hopefully this post has led you to feel more confident in your future trading experiences with Kaisertech.

We have been working around the clock to ensure we have the processes in place that ensure a seamless transition into 2021 and Brexit Britain.
